Exchangeable dual-comb light sources – now starting at CHF 25’000
The dual-comb laser modules for the IRis-F1 / IRis-core platform are exchangeable light sources to adapt the instrument’s spectral range to the user’s regions of interest.
Each module contains two quantum cascade laser (QCL) frequency combs for the mid-infrared range, which are collimated and factory pre-aligned to allow easy installation and removal from existing spectrometers.. They rely on the direct generation of frequency combs in the range of approximately 4.5µm – 11 µm (about 2200 cm-1 to 900 cm-1) in QCLs and do not require nonlinear conversion of near-IR frequency comb light. Emission powers range from 10 mW to several 100 mW, depending on spectral range and application.
The laser modules are available in the LMA form factor for maximum flexibility in terms of beam configuration and smallest mode spacing as well as in the more compact LMC form factor for smaller size and lower cost. The co-alignment of Laser Module A can also be adjusted after delivery for optimal beam overlap even at long sample paths of several meters. The more integrated optics of LMC are factory pre-aligned for path lengths up to 5 meters.
Laser Module A (LMA)
The Laser Module A features two separately packaged QCL frequency combs for access to all QCL mode spacings and both beam configurations (ASC and PSC).
Laser Module C (LMC)
The new Laser Module C is more compact, less complex and therefore lower in cost, size and weight. It is only available in the ASC configuration with mode spacings no smaller than 0.33 cm-1. For the use of the LMC in the IRis-F1 and IRis-core platforms, an adapter is available which enables the electrical and mechanical transfer from one form factor to the other.
