Understanding of the intra- and inter-molecular interactions in gas phase requires a very precise determination of line shape parameters. It needs a lot of measurements performed at high resolution (<0.001 cm-1).
Since a long time FTIR spectroscopy as well as laser-based spectroscopies have been used for such studies. The recent development of Dual-Comb Spectroscopy (DCS) at high resolution makes of this technique a powerful tool for gas phase studies.
The IRis-F1 allows to scan relatively large spectral ranges (>60 cm-1) with a high resolution (<0.001 cm-1) and is thus very well adapted for measurements of line shape parameters as individual line intensities, collisional broadenings and pressure-shifts, as well as the line shape itself.
A comparison with FTIR, diode-laser or QCL spectroscopies will be made.

Speakers
Florian Eigenmann
The webinar will be hosted by Florian Eigenmann, Head of Sales at IRsweep. He received his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in heterogenous catalysis. Florian worked several years at Bruker Optics in Switzerland in Sales and Applications before joining the Bruker US team for business development in near-infrared spectroscopy for North America. Afterwards he was responsible for the ReactIRs at Mettler-Toledo AutoChem in Europe. He has a passion for Rapid Reaction Monitoring on the scale on a few microseconds with high spectral resolution that provides outstanding value to the pharmaceutical, (bio-)chemical, polymer and food industry.
Muriel Lepère
Joining the panel will be Muriel Lepère, Full Professor in Physics at University of Namur, honorary Research Associate with F.R.S. - FNRS (Belgium) and leader of the Laboratory Lasers and Spectroscopies. She received her PhD from the Facultés Universitaires ND de la Paix (Namur, Belgium) and Université de Paris-Sud (Orsay, France). Since 2009, she is the Director of the Lasers, Optics & Spectroscopies platform and a member of the steering committee of the Institute of Life, Earth and Environment of the University of Namur. She has internationally recognised expertise in gas spectroscopy and experimental spectroscopy in the thermal infrared. She has published many papers devoted to spectral line parameters for molecules with atmospheric interest.
